Located next to the French border, this traditional Italian ski resort is part of the vast Milky Way ski area; with access to over 400km of incredible runs which link to Sestriere, Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx and Montgenèvre. There are also four terrain parks for snowboarders to enjoy. Claviere is in fact Italy’s oldest ski resort, offering a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. Locals rave about the resort’s unrivalled snow conditions and love to mention the ski region of Piedmont was chosen for the 2006 Winter Olympics and 1997 Alpine Ski World Championships. As a result, Claviere has benefitted from local investment and improvements to the vast ski lift system that links the resort to the Milky Way ski area.

Family fun

Claviere is one of Italy’s best resorts for families. The resort offers a more subdued atmosphere, making it a good option for those with little ones. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained in the evening – from ice-skating on a natural ice rink to bowling and retro games at the local amusement arcade. If you want to head out for the day or evening without the kids, there are also a variety of very reputable childcare facilities available in Claviere.

Corporate activities

Snowshoeing is a great way to experience local traditions and explore the local landscape at a slower pace. Team Ski-Doo rides can also be organised, with an authentic mountain meal waiting for you at the other end of your ride – a great way to reward your hard working employees.

Group adventures

Due to the small size of Claviere, the nightlife here is quieter in comparison to larger and more popular Italian resorts. For an evening meal, there are a variety of authentic pizzerias to choose from, however, if you’re looking for something livelier head to the neighbouring French resort of Montgenevre which offers a wider choice of bars.

Something for everyone and anyone

From Christmas through to the first week of January, torchlit descents are organised by the local ski school on the slopes of Claviere. This atmospheric tradition is a highlight for all ages and we can guarantee it will be one of your most memorable moments on a ski trip to Claviere!
